Four Coronavirus Cases Now Confirmed In Allegheny County

The coronavirus outbreak continues to spread in western Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Two more coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Allegheny County, county officials said Sunday. That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the county to four.

The individuals are adults, both in their 60s. One person is currently hospitalized, and the other is in isolation at home.

To date, there are 63 confirmed cases in the state. All are either in isolation at home or are being treated at the hospital.

Two Pittsburgh residents were the county's first confirmed coronavirus cases, county health department officials said Saturday. The two live together. The individuals are both adults, one in their 70s and one in their 60s. Neither person required hospitalization, and both are currently in isolation at home.

Twenty-six country residents have had test samples for COVID-19 examined by the
state health department. It is unknown how many have had test samples
sent to commercial labs.

The first presumptive coronavirus case in western Pennsylvania was confirmed Friday by the state Department of Health. In releasing the latest statistics on the outbreak, the health department noted a confirmed case in Washington County.
