Toys R Us Gift Cards: Use Or Lose Deadline Looms
The soon-to-be defunct retailer is about to stop accepting gift cards.

PITTSBURGH, PA - As liquidation sales continue at many Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores before they shutter, those looking to use outstanding gift cards may want to shop sooner rather than later. Saturday is the final day that Toys R Us and Babies R Us gift cards will be accepted at stores.
The final day to use Endless Earnings e-gift cards for registries at Babies R Us will also be Saturday, April 21.
Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash.
In addition, gift cards and e-gift cards cannot be used at the stores' online e-commerce sites, which were shut down recently as part of Toys R Us' "winding down" its U.S. operations.

Last month Toys R Us announced that it would be "winding down" operations in preparation to sell or close 735 stores across the U.S. That "winding down" includes liquidating its inventory and holding going-out-of-business sales.
The sales are slated to be completed by the end of June.

Toys R Us filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in federal court in September 2017 and began holding going-out-of-business sales at 144 of its U.S. stores in February.
The company started the year with more than 800 stores across the country under the Toys R Us and Babies R Us monikers. In January, Toys R Us said it would close 180 locations.
Then, the New Jersey-based company announced March 15 that it would sell or close all of its 735 U.S. stores.
Liquidation sales are currently going on at every store that is still open. Some Babies R Us stores have already closed. All purchases are final. Returns will not be accepted.
