On February 2, detectives reviewed jail records that indicated Platt and Coles were working with a man to have the drugs placed in a bathroom of a local magistrate’s office on February 3, when Coles was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing.
At 9:30 a.m. on February 3, detectives responded to the magistrate’s office and later observed Tyrique Craighead, 33, arrive at the office and enter the bathroom. When Craighead exited the bathroom, detectives conducted a search and discovered an open bag of Doritos that appeared to contain multiple items of suspected contraband. Further search of the item revealed multiple pieces of rolled paper which tested positive for synthetic cannabinoids.
