Trump Tells PA TV Station He Is Looking At Contraception Restrictions

PITTSBURGH, PA — President Joe Biden's campaign on Tuesday released a portion of former President Donald Trump's interview with a Pittsburgh TV station in which Trump said he was "looking at" restrictions on contraception.

A 26-second snippet of the interview was posted on the Biden campaign's X account.

When Trump was asked by KDKA political reporter Jon Delano if he supported any restrictions on a person's right to contraception, Trump responded "We're looking at that and I'm going to have a policy on that very shortly, and I think it's something you'll find interesting."

The interview was not posted on the station's website or social media platforms Tuesday. The reason for its absence was not immediately clear.

KDKA declined to tell Politico when the interview was conducted.

After the Biden X post, Trump staunchly denied advocating a contraception ban on his Truth social media platform.

"I have never, and will never, advocate imposing restrictions on birth control, or other contraceptives," he stated.

"This is a Democrat fabricated lie, misinformation-disinformation because they have nothing else to run on except failure, poverty and death. I do not support a ban on birth control and neither will the Republican party."

Reproductive rights have become a key issue during the 2024 election after the Supreme Court oveturned Roe v. Wade last year. The court also is set to rule on a case that would restrict access the abortion pill mifepristone.
