Visitation Begins For Slain Brackenridge Police Chief

Brackenridge Chief Justin McIntire was shot to death last week while on duty.

NEW KENSINGTON, PA — Visitation began Monday for Brackenridge police Chief Justin McIntire, who was shot to death last week while on duty.

Visitation is occurring Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Ross. G. Walker Funeral Home at 217 Freeport Road in New Kensington.

Chief McIntire's funeral will occur at noon Wednesday at Mount Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Airy Cemetery in Harrison.

Chief McIntire, 46, died in the January 2 shooting near 6th Avenue and Morgan Street in
Brackenridge. The suspect, Aaron Lamont Swan, 28, died later that day in an encounter with police in Pittsburgh's Homewood section.
