Wawa Tops Sheetz For PA's Best Fast Food: Food & Wine
Food & Wine has high praise for Wawa in its ranking of each state's top locally based fast food chain.

PENNSYLVANIA - Score a win for Wawa in the never-ending debate over whether it or Sheetz has the best food among the Keystone State's convenience stores. Wawa has the best, according to Food & Wine, which just published a list of the top fast food chains linked tightly to their home territories.
"Try the rest—Sheetz, Rutter’s, Turkey Hill, GetGo, we’re probably missing one or two—and
then try the best, which is not only a gas station and a convenience store, it’s also the most popular destination for a quick and affordable bite for generations of hard working people in the southeastern part of the state, and increasingly, beyond," Food & Wine raved.
Wawa primarily operates in eastern Pennsylvania, while Sheetz has a stronghold in the western part of the state. For those unfamiliar with Wawa, Food & Wine cites several reasons why people love the place.

There are "three, very key aspects of the experience—there are those hoagies, from a tasty Italian to a not-half-bad cheese steak, all for a few bucks. Then there’s the coffee—no convenience store comes close; (and) their limited edition Wawa Reserve program brings in some surprising single-origin coffees from around the world, and you can always sample before you commit."
But the Altoona-based Sheetz has some weapons in its own arsenal, including a new beer brewed in collaboration with Philadelphia's Evil Genius Brewery. Project Blueberry Muffin will be available in 99 Sheetz locations for a limited time starting Aug. 29 at 4 p.m.
