PITTSBURGH, PA — If you've been wondering where the snow has been thus far this winter, rest assured you won't have to wonder much longer. The National Weather Service is predicting the first accumulating snow of the season on Thursday and into Thursday night.

The weather service is predicting just under three inches in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, with greater amounts to the south. North of the city, accumulations are expected to be lighter.

The snow will be followed by the coldest temperatures of the winter, with a high on Friday only in the mid-20s. The chance for rain or snow returns on Saturday and Sunday.
