Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Portions Of Western PA

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of Western Pennsylvania, including Butler, Fayette, Armstrong and Indiana counties. The advisory is in effect from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday.

As much as five inches of snow could fall in the advisory areas. Also, a brief period of freezing rain could result in a glaze of ice Saturday afternoon and evening, particularly in the higher elevations.

The latest forecast for the Pittsburgh area calls for rain and snow on Saturday with a high temperature of 38. Total snow accumulation at this point is not expected to top a half-inch.
