Winter Weather Returning To Pittsburgh Area

The calendar says it's spring. Mother Nature will ignore that this weekend.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Although it's nearly April, a wintry blast this weekend will make it seem more like January or February in Pittsburgh. Snow accumulations are likely throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

However, any snow that falls in the metro area will be light. The National Weather Service and the Weather Channel predict less than an inch between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Sunday. State College-based AccuWeather forecasts up to an inch.

Accumulations will be heavier outside of the city. The weather service predicts as much as three inches in Butler and Armstrong counties and two inches in the mountain ridges of Westmoreland County.
