Wolf Issues Stay At Home Order For Allegheny, 5 Other Counties
The governor's order applies to the counties hardest hit by the coronavirus.
HARRISBURG, PA - Gov. Tom Wolf issued a stay-at-home order Monday for Allegheny County and six eastern Pennsylvania counties that have been hardest by the coronavirus. The order, which goes into effect at 8 p.m. Monday and will last for two weeks, also applies to Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Monroe Counties. Philadelphia already was under a stay-at-home order.
“This is going to be difficult even more than it already is,” Wolf said during an afternoon briefing. “Already these restrictions are unlike anything we’ve experienced before.”
Wolf's office will release guidelines later on Monday as to what circumstances people are allowed to leave their homes.

Wolf said the order is an attempt to buy time to avoid overwhelming hospitals.
“Stay at home as unless someone’s life depends on going out, because ultimately someone’s life does depend on you staying home,” he said.
