PITTSBURGH, PA — Saying she is walking away from her "dream job," WTAE-TV weekend news anchor Brittany Hoke has left the station.

Hoke announced the move in a Facebook post.

"There were a lot of reasons that went into this extremely difficult decision," she said. "Some are too personal to share in a lot of detail. But the CliffsNotes version is this: when you are hired by someone, your transaction is, you do your best work for them and they pay you for it. We all have personal lives and families and we all go through hard times that may require stability or flexibility."

"I’m accepting that passions evolve as we get older and we don’t need to be afraid of that," she said. "And I’m using both of those realizations to build a life that makes me excited to get up in the morning -- which has me pursuing something in the health and nutrition field."
