Mud The Movie Starring Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey

Reese Witherspoon's and Matthew Mc Conaughey's new movie, Mud, may or may not be an alternative from Iron Man III this week.

Movies…Mud With Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon

Did you ever leave a movie and ask yourself if you liked it? Mud is one of those kind of movies! You went to it because you expected this great romance between Matthew Mc Conaughey and Reese Witherspoon for point one. For point two, you can’t wait to see Reese Witherspoon play someone nasty and someone not wearing pink.

Everything with Witherspoon and Mc Conaughey must be on the cutting room floor. If they spent four minutes together in the movie, that would be on the high end of the count. They story is about love, trust, failing relationships, and the importance of understanding who does and does not love you. Mc Conaughey (Mud) loves Witherspoon (Juniper), defends her everywhere with terrible consequences, and is waiting for her to show him some sign of forever.

Two boys played by Tye Sheridan (Ellis) and Jacob Lofland (Neckbone) steal the movie as they help Mc Conaughey connect with Witherspoon and learn who women (first loves, girlfriends, mothers, new acquaintances) may or may not be. Sheridan is sixteen but looks twelve in the movie. Is he going to change Mud or is Mud going to shape the way the impressionable boy sees life is a great theme that runs through the picture?

Mud is hiding on a backwater island in Arkansas when discovered by Sheridan and Lofland. Everyone is after Mud. The boys are ready to claim the boat that is Mud's hiding place. The boat is fifteen feet up in a tree, but still sea or river worthy...they hope. The story unfolds as the plan unfolds to get the boat out of the tree and to the river with a host of junkyard pilfered aids.

Maybe you remember reading Chris Van Allsburg's beautifully illustrated children's book, Wreck Of The Zephyr. You will find a boat in a tree and a great story under similar circumstances.
