Germantown Academy Closes School Over Coronavirus Concerns

The school is taking precautions after it was discovered a student is related to an individual with coronavirus in Montgomery County.

FORT WASHINGTON, PA -- Germantown Academy will be closed through Wednesday this week due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak in Montgomery County.

A student in the school is related to one of the five individuals that have been diagnosed with a presumptive case of the virus, according to a letter sent home to parents.

The student is not suffering any symptoms, and the decision to close the school seems to have been made out of an abundance of caution. The student is self-quarantining for two weeks.
