Germantown Academy Wins Montco Language-Bee

The contest was held at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

Few of us speak one language capably. These kids can handle two. 

On Feb. 28, nine Germantown Academy students participated in the Montgomery County Oral Proficiency Contest, sponsored by the Montgomery County Association of Teachers of Foreign Languages at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School. 

And they excelled.

After all the student competitors submitted to a round of individual interviews in their target language with the judges, two finalists were chosen in each language at each level. The finalists were then interviewed before an audience of teachers, parents, and fellow students. 

Of the nine students they brought to the competition, Germantown Academy advanced eight to the finals, and took six gold medals. Below are the full results:
