Lanes Open after Germantown Pike Water Main Break

No customers affected, spokeswoman says.

A water main rupture on Germantown Pike affected traffic early Tuesday afternoon, just west of the roadway's intersection with Joshua Road. However, two opposite lanes of traffic were flowing freely by the 5 p.m. rush hour, as crews worked to repair the roadway.

According to Aqua American spokeswoman Donna Alston, a 12-inch high density pipe ruptured, forcing the company to shut off water flow at approximately 1:30 p.m. However, no water customers were affected by the rupture, Alston said.

Repair work was expected to completed by 7:30 p.m., Alston told Patch.
