Montco Husband, Father Of 2 Mourned After Turnpike Crash

Tributes have poured in for the Penn grad, "best dad," devoted family man, and community volunteer killed earlier this week.

WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, PA — The victim of a fatal crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike earlier this week has been identified as a Montgomery County man and father of two.

Marcus G. Pochettino, 38, lived in Lafayette Hill with his wife and his children. He was killed Tuesday when his Volvo crashed at a construction site near the Route 1 interchange in Bensalem Township, authorities said.

In a widely shared social media post, his wife described him as a tremendous father and husband to their two young boys, aged 9 and 7.

"There are no words to for the depth and breadth of our loss. He lived every day with love for me and our boys," Casey Pochettino wrote. "He was our entire universe, and we were his. We lost the best dad in the history of the world."

Marcus, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and employee at Labcorp, was active in his community. He volunteered with the Colonial Soccer Club as their under-9 boys travel coach, where he coached his two sons.

"His absence will be profoundly felt, from the loss of his nightly readings of Harry Potter to his sons, to the small acts of care and maintenance around their home, and his tender care for their physical and emotional well-being," family friend Jamie Kaye wrote in the GoFundMe.

Funeral details have not yet been announced and will be provided in the coming days.
