The Week Ahead: What to Look for in Plymouth-Whitemarsh

Welcome to the week of Monday, April 2, 2012.

This week's episode is entitled "Easter," or "What the heck do with your kids now that school is out."

For some parents, it will be as simple as watching their kids compete, as Plymouth-Whitemarsh athletics continue in full swing, with many teams taking on teams from Upper Moreland and Upper Dublin. Saturday also marks the Colonial Relays, hosted by PW's track teams.

Those with kids a bit younger have a few options as well. The Easter Bunny will be putting in his time at the Plymouth Meeting Mall this week, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. The mall will also be hosting Elmwood Park Zoo's "Deep Blue Sea" interactive exhibit on Friday from noon to 4 p.m.

For Whitemarsh residents, the William Jeanes Library will be holding a number of events for the youngsters this week, and the Parks & Rec Center will be holding afternoon games Tuesday and Thursday at 1 p.m.

On the municipal calendar, Whitemarsh's Zoning Hearing Board meets Wednesday night, while the township building opens its doors to residents in need of tax assistance from Berkheimer and Associates on Friday.

In Plymouth Township, council meets for its monthly workshop Monday evening while the Planning Agency meets Wednesday night. Conshohocken's council will hold its workshop on Wednesday evening as well.
