Award winning children’s book authors to hold book signing at historic Moland House

The Moland House, a historical treasure located in the heart of Warwick Township, and the site of George Washington’s Bucks County Headquarters during the Revolutionary War, will host a children’s book signing event on February 12, 2012 from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. In celebration of Presidents Day, award winning children’s book authors Debbie Dadey and Laurie Calkhoven will visit the Moland House to autograph their books with presidential themes.    The event is free to attend, but donations to the Moland House will be gratefully accepted.

Dadey is the co-author of The Bailey School Kids, including Werewolves Don't Run for President, the forty-ninth book in the series. The book is about a presidential candidate who looks like a werewolf and is campaigning on a platform that includes longer school days and year-round classes! When the students of Bailey City see his wolf-like appearance, they worry that a werewolf could become the next president of the United States! “The book teaches children about the electoral process in a fun and engaging way,” says Dadey.

Calkhoven is the author of I Grew up to be President, a book about all of the U.S. Presidents. The book teaches young readers about our Presidents' childhoods, families, careers, accomplishments in office, and life after the White House. Says Calkhoven, “It is a great resource for parents, teachers and students. It covers all the basics, but I’ve included lots of fun stories, too, like the fact that John Quincy Adams survived two near shipwrecks and James and Dolly Madison introduced White House guests to a brand new dessert—ice cream!”
