A couple out on Halloween night came across a horrifying sight: the body of a white ferret smoldering in flames.

AMITY TOWNSHIP, PA — A couple out on Halloween night came across a horrifying sight: the body of a white ferret smoldering in flames.

The incident occurred at around 7:51 p.m. in Amity Township, Berks County, on Lake Drive near Park Lane.

A woman told authorities that her husband had found a small fire and after putting the blaze out, realized that it was a dead ferret that had been burning.

No one was seen in the area of the burning ferret.

Police believe that the ferret was deceased before it was set on fire.

The animal was described as white in color, with severe burns on one side of its body. The animal did not appear to have any other injuries to its body besides the burns.
