Two Schuylkill County Men Jailed After Verizon Lines Cut Near Frackville (skooknews.com) — A Pottsville man and a Minersville man are jailed after police say they were caught with cut Verizon cables and stripped copper near the Frackville baseball complex, potentially threatening phone and 911 service between Shenandoah and Frackville. Both face felony theft-related charges, with bail set at $25,000 each and preliminary hearings later this month.
   

3. Pottsville man accused of 2 armed robberies days apart in Schuylkill County (fox56.com) — A 20-year-old Pottsville man is jailed without bail after allegedly admitting to two armed robberies at Schuylkill County convenience stores just days apart. State police say he used a rifle-style airsoft gun and a getaway car to rob a Shenandoah gas station and a Friendly Food Mart, escaping with cash before being arrested and charged with multiple felonies.
   

4. Lehigh Valley sports: Thursday's schedule (mcall.com) — Pottsville sports fans can catch the Crimson Tide football team hosting Pleasant Valley at 7 p.m. on Thursday's packed Lehigh Valley schedule. The day also features boys soccer, field hockey, and girls volleyball matchups across the region, giving local followers plenty of chances to support nearby high school athletes.
   

5. Schuylkill Haven Man Jailed After Allegedly Threatening Teen with Gun on Snapchat (skooknews.com) — A Schuylkill Haven teenager is safe but shaken after police say an 18-year-old man threatened her and her grandfather, then sent a Snapchat photo of a handgun. Officers later recovered the weapon, registered to a Pottsville resident, from a juvenile's backpack and jailed the suspect on multiple firearm and harassment-related charges with a high cash bail set.
