$65K Reward Offered For Info On Delco Boy's Shooting Death

CHESTER, PA — A $65,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest for the person or people who fatally shot a 7-year-old boy in Chester recently.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and U.S. Marshal Eric Gartner announced a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest of whoever was responsible for the April 5 shooting death of Sinsir Parker, 7.

According t0 multiple reports, the addition of the $15,000 offered bring the total reward amount to $65,000.

The reward is being jointly offered and administered by the Philadelphia Crime Commission of the Delaware Valley and the U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Sinsir was killed in a shooting incident that occurred at about 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, near the 2600 block of Swarts Street in Chester’s Highland Gardens neighborhood.

Chester Police were called to the area for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police found Sinsir lying in the middle of the street with a gunshot wounds to his facial area.

Sinsir succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Paramedics from Crozer Chester Medical Center.

"Today’s announcement demonstrates the commitment of local law enforcement and the U.S. Marshals Service to solve this senseless crime," said Stollsteimer. "This is a unique reward, it does not require the conviction of any person(s). What we need is information," he continued. "The murder of this young man is a devastating loss to his family and friends, and also to the larger community. It is critical that we bring those responsible to justice."

"Any loss of life from violence is a tragedy," stated U.S. Marshal Gartner, "but when the violence strikes a young child, it is truly heartbreaking. We must join together to solve this crime – and demonstrate our collective resolve in reducing violence in Chester and the surrounding communities."

The District Attorney stated that the Criminal Investigation Division has committed $10,000 to the reward fund, while the U.S. Marshals’ office has committed $5,000.

The Citizens Crime Commission will administer the reward.
