Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive Celebrates Its 5th Anniversary in Radnor Township on May 10
Special memorial blood drive will also benefit DMAX Foundation and Delaware County Special Olympics

Join us on May 10 at the Radnor Township Municipal Building (301 Iven Avenue, Wayne) for the 5th Annual Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive in Radnor Township! All presenting donors will receive a gift bag, free entry into prize drawings, special refreshments, and a commemorative t-shirt.
For every unit of blood collected at this American Red Cross blood drive, Carol’s family will make contributions to DMAX Foundation, which works to eliminate stigma and encourage safe, caring conversations with young people about mental health issues and emotional struggles, and Delaware County Special Olympics, which provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. If the blood drive collection surpasses last year's total of 131 units, the family will double their donations to both organizations. Appointments are available every 15 minutes throughout the day and can be scheduled at www.chablooddrive.org or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (mention sponsor code "CHAMemorial").
Main Line resident Carol Axelrod became dependent on regular transfusions of blood and platelets while being treated for multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The transfusions allowed her to continue to live independently, enjoy good quality of life, and spend time with friends and family. After Axelrod died, her family started the blood drive as a way of helping other patients through similar experiences.
