33 Years and Still Going Strong – The Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza Returns to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center September 17 – 20, 2026Oaks, PA – Mancuso Show Management is proud to present the 33rd annual Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza. The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center will host this spectacular event September 17 - September 20, 2026 featuring over 1000 works of textile art. Additionally, the festival offers vendors, hands on workshops, lectures, a fashion show and product demos. Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza is the center of it all for quilt, wearable and textile art! A highlight of this year’s event is a special exhibition by 7-time Tony Award-winning actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein. Best known for writing La Cage aux Folles and Kinky Boots and starring as Edna in Hairspray, Harvey has been making quilts for more than 30 years. During the COVID lockdown, his passion for quilting flourished, inspiring a remarkable collection of quilt art that the Extravaganza is thrilled to premiere. In addition, the festival will display over 30 special exhibitions from regional guilds such as the Philadelphia Modern Quilt Guild, PieceMakers Quilters and the Sankofa Artisans, travelling quilt collections and the annual national judged competition. Once again Mancuso Show Management sponsored the juried exhibition, Celebration of Women: A Quilter’s Perspective with a portion of the entry fees going to A Woman’s Place (AWP), the only domestic violence community benefit organization in Bucks County, PA. Shopping is a must at the event Merchant’s Mall with a diverse assortment of vendors selling sewing machines, fabric, wool, clothing, notions and more. Attendees can sit in on, at no additional charge, several midday lectures and product demonstrations. Back by popular demand are Fashion Friday, an attendee-driven fashion show, and Sticker Saturday, where collecting stickers can earn you a prize. New this year, the Brandywine Rug Hooking Guild will offer rug hooking demonstrations throughout the event. Quilters and textile artists can also preregister for workshops taught by a nationally recognized faculty. This year’s event is sponsored by Major Sponsors: BERNINA/Hayes Sewing Machine Company, BERNINA Longarm/Domesticity, Brother/Byrne Sewing, Baby Lock/Hayes Sewing Machine Company, Janome/Pocono Sew &amp; Vac and Husqvarna Viking &amp; Pfaff/Sew ‘n Place. Artist George Robert “Bob” Overhiser Jr. will discuss Impact: Reflections of 9/11, a moving exhibition of abstract works inspired by his experience as a survivor of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Overhiser was inside the South Tower of the World Trade Center when the plane struck. After escaping the building, he took shelter beside a vendor cart—a moment that would later become central to his artistic response to the tragedy. His works on canvas and stainless steel explore the ways memory, trauma, survival, and resilience can be expressed through abstraction. The reflective surfaces of the stainless-steel works evoke the distorted images and fragmented scenes one might have seen reflected in the shiny metal of the vendor cart.
The public is invited to begin by viewing the exhibition in the Gallery, followed by a conversation with Overhiser in the Fullerton Room, where he will share the personal experiences and creative process behind this powerful collection.
Overhiser is the founder of Portrait Portfolio LLC. He earned a degree in Visual Studies from Dartmouth College and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. His artwork has been exhibited and created since 2012.Impact: Reflections of 9/11 will be in the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Gallery, September 13 through October 25.

Located at 303 West Lancaster Ave, Suite 2C (above The UPS Store), the office will be open weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

<h1>From Childhood to Independence: A Night at Longwood Gardens with Amigos de Jesús</h1>
In a country where poverty, limited educational opportunities and economic insecurity can leave young people with few choices for their futures, Amigos de Jesús is working to create another possibility: helping vulnerable children grow into educated, healthy and independent adults with the skills and opportunities to build their lives in Honduras.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Amigos de Jesús will bring that story to Longwood Gardens for Growing Together with Amigos, an evening celebrating the children and young adults of Amigos and inviting the greater Philadelphia community to become part of their journey.
Amigos de Jesús provides a safe and nurturing home for vulnerable children in Honduras, but its work does not end with providing a safe place to live. The organization walks alongside children from childhood into adulthood, providing education, healthcare, emotional support, faith formation, life skills and opportunities designed to prepare them for healthy, independent lives.
“Our goal isn't simply to care for a child today,” said Kelley Jackson, President and CEO of Amigos de Jesús. “We have to ask what success looks like when that child becomes an adult. Are they educated? Are they healthy? Do they have the skills and confidence to work, manage their lives and build a future within the realities of Honduras? That is the journey we are committed to.”
Guests attending Growing Together with Amigos are invited to enjoy Longwood Gardens throughout the day before gathering in the Fountain Room from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception, stories and updates from Honduras, and a private illuminated fountain show.
The evening is designed not only to raise critical funds for the mission, but also to introduce new people throughout the region to Amigos de Jesús and the many ways individuals, families, schools, churches and businesses can become involved.
Tickets are $200 per person and include untimed admission to Longwood Gardens for the day, the evening reception and private illuminated fountain show.
