Historic Women's Club In Wayne Welcomes 25 New Members

The Saturday Club, formed in 1886 and one of the nation's oldest women's organizations, had 25 new women join its ranks recently.

WAYNE, PA – The Saturday Club in Wayne, one of the oldest women’s non-profit organizations in both Pennsylvania and nationwide, announced Wednesday that 25 new members have been inducted for 2018.

This marks the largest class of new members in recent history, the organization said.

Alison Cornell, Ashley Maze, Catherine (Kit) McNichol Rothenberger, Christine Winters, Dunham Townend Churchill, Elizabeth Trupkovich, Grace Gaspari, Grace Zwann, Heather Chivinski, Jen Wilkins, Kate Clark, Kathleen Fallah, Katie Shiel, Kim Campanaro, Kim Connor, Kristen Holuba, Linda Glauber, Lindsey Valentine, Liz DiDomenico, Mallory Silva, Marisa Benjamin, Nancy Lubrecht, Pamela Badolato, Tara Donnelly, and Yvette Kaplan.

"We continue to be humbled and honored by the overwhelming interest in our organization and number of applications and requests to join we receive," Cory Townend, President of The Saturday Club, said in a statement. "Each new member possesses an impressive educational and professional background, and each will bring a unique set of skills to help strengthen our organization and enable us to continue to fulfill our mission of providing philanthropic support to women’s and children’s charities throughout the Philadelphia region."

The Saturday Club is among the oldest women’s clubs in both Pennsylvania and nationwide; it was formed in 1886 and celebrated its 131st anniversary in March 2017.

The group supports local women’s and children’s charities including Community Center at Visitation, Greener Partners, Milagro House, Paws and Affection, The Parkesburg Point Youth Center and The Radnor ABC House, to name a few.

In addition to philanthropy and direct community service, The Saturday Club hosts events for the local community at the group’s historic clubhouse in downtown Wayne.
