The 2015/2016 series begins Wednesday, October 7th, 7-8PM at the Wayne Art Center. Join us as we welcome Jay Wright, the face of Villanova basketball.

The “Wright Stuff” on Hoops

Jay Wright is the face of Villanova basketball as well as a superstar among college coaches. Over the course of 14 seasons as head coach, Coach Wright has guided Villanova to a period of sustained national success. His well-coached and well-mentored Wildcats are one of only nine college basketball programs to have advanced to the NCAA Tournament in ten of the last eleven seasons.

A former player for Bucknell University, Mr. Wright’s coaching career began in 1984 at the University of Rochester. In 2001, Jay was named head coach of Villanova and since then he has collected a host of honors for his extraordinary work. In 2015, he was named “BIG EAST Coach of the Year” for the fourth time and “Philadelphia Big 5 Coach of the Year” for the second consecutive year. In addition, Coach Wright has won National Coach of the Year awards from CBS/Chevrolet, NABC, and Naismith. Among the many reasons Jay Wright is so respected is the fact that every Villanova player who has spent four years in the program has earned his degree during Wright’s tenure.

Recognizing the enormous wealth of talent and experience among the local community, Wysocki and Wolf have made it their goal to bring to light the fascinating knowledge and journeys that have brought extraordinary people in our own local area to their present positions. Lectures will run from 7:00 to 8:00pm followed by question/comment sessions. Evenings will end with refreshments and an opportunity to socialize with neighbors and friends.
