Newcomers Members giving back to the Main Line Community

Two members of the Newcomers of the Upper Main Line appeared at Baker Industries annual Art & Artisan event this past weekend

When Baker Industries put out a call for artists to appear at their annual Art & Artisan event, local artists including two members of the Newcomers of the Upper Main Line signed up. This event benefits Baker Industries, a non-profit located in Malvern, PA. Baker Industries (http://bakerindustries.org/) provides work and work experiences for the vulnerable in our society- A social enterprise, Baker Industries blends a unique mix of hard-to-employ adults in our nonprofit work program. Each day, more than 200 workers make their way to one of our two production facilities where they meet exacting customer specifications. Led by a dedicated staff of manufacturing professionals, our workers know Baker Industries is giving them a chance that few will provide.

Their Art and Artisan event held November 5th and 6th brought together many unique artists from our area, including two who are members of the Newcomers of the Upper Main Line (http://ncuml.org/), a social club for active women living on or near the Upper Main Line. Cynthia Munger and her artist partner founded a greeting card business that offers cards for those living a clean and sober life. Kudos to Cynthia for her company and their charitable giving back message. Artist Barbara Dirnbach, a local Main Line artist attended and had for sale her oils, pastels and amazing collages. Baker Industries was the beneficiary of this event, and their good works create a better world for all of us.
