Radnor Celebrating 30 Years Of Tree City Designation On Arbor Day

For the 30th year, Radnor has been named a Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation. Help celebrate the honor on Arbor Day, April 29.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — 2022 marks the 30th year that Radnor Township has been designed a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

And the township is inviting residents to celebrate the honor on Arbor Day itself.

A celebration will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29 in Odorisio Park and include tree planting.

To become a Tree City, Radnor met four standards established by the foundation.

They are having a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance.

Arbor Day began in 1872, so 2022 marks 150 years of tree stewardship.

This event may be canceled due to weather or health and safety issues.

Odorisio Park is located at 205 Church St. in Wayne.
