1986 'Transformers' Movie Returning To Philly-Area Theaters

Parents have a chance to show their kids the original Transformers movie from 1986 and get a preview of the new "Bumblebee" movie Sept. 27.

PHILADELPHIA – Back in 2007, the Transformers burst onto the big screen in a live-action version of the popular cartoon series and toy line that spurred numerous sequels. But that wasn't the first time Optimus Prime and company were on the silver screen.

The real first Transformers movie came to theaters in 1986 with the simple title "The Transformers."

Now, fans of the original film can relive the glory and show their kids the first iteration of the franchise, as the movie will return the theaters one day only on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Philly-area theaters.
