Armed Robbers Hit 2 Roxborough 7-Elevens Tuesday: Police

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA – Patch reported Wednesday June 7 that a 7-Eleven on Ridge Avenue in Roxborough was hit by an armed robber. Thursday morning, police released video of the robbery, but also reported another 7-Eleven in Roxborough was robbed about 24 hours earlier.

The story we reported involved the store at 6101 Ridge Ave.

That store was robbed at gunpoint at about 11:48 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, police said.

An unknown black male entered the store, approached a the cashier, a 39 year-old male, pointing a handgun at him, and demanded money while striking the cashier in the face with the handgun, police said.

The suspect made off with $300 cash and 50 cigarette lighters and was last seen heading north on Ridge Avenue toward Green Lane, police said.

The suspect is described as being 5feet 3 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall who was wearing a white mask over his face, blue and black gloves, a black jacked with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, and black pants.

Police reported the other robbery Thursday, saying the 7-Eleven at 7607 Ridge Avenue was robbed at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, about 24 hours before the first reported robbery.

A black male entered the store pointing a handgun at an employee, a 21 year-old male, demanding him to open the cash registers, police said.

The suspect made off with $250 from the register drawer then fled in an unknown direction, according to police.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot 7-inch tall male with a who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white sneakers, with a mask over his face, and armed with a handgun.

Police did not say whether or not these incidents are related.
