Beer Garden Opens At 'Top of the Tower' In Philly

A new beer garden has opened on the 50th and 51st stories of a skyscraper in Center City.

Philadelphia, PA -- From 50 stories above, patrons at the beer garden on top of Three Logan Square have a bird's eye view of most other beer gardens in the city.

The grand opening of SkyGarten began on Wednesday night at 5 p.m., and will continue on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The garden is hosted by Top of the Tower, a catering venue on the 50th and 51st stories of the building at 1717 Arch Street in downtown Center City.

Skygarten is the latest addition to the city's fledgling beer garden scene, which includes seasonal venues such as Spruce Harbor Park and Independence Park, and offerings from the Philadelphia Horticultural Society like the one on South Street.

The garden at Top of the Tower is run by Brauhaus Schmitz, a German bierhall and restaurant in Philadelphia.

The event space has been slightly transformed to accommodate the garden, including picnic benches inside a boardroom, and numerous tables on the patio.

The garden will be open on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights at 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
