Burger King Offering Philly Cheesesteak-Inspired Burger
Locals know most chains that offer Philly cheesesteak style menu items often have unnecessary additions or changes. So what's BK's like?

PHILADELPHIA – Many chain restaurants offer less-than-accurate versions of the classic cheesesteak on their menus, often adding mushrooms, peppers, mayonnaise, and who knows what else.
But Burger King is launching a new Philly-inspired burger that stays relatively true to the sandwich Philadelphians know and love.
The "Philly Cheese King" features a half pound of flame-grilled beef, melted American cheese, caramelized onions, and creamy cheese sauce. Essentially it's a wiz and American wit; pretty standard fare for a steak.

In fact, Burger King appears to be so confident about the new item that it filmed a commercial for the new sandwich here in the City of Brotherly Love. One shot is even outside Pat's in South Philly.

Philly locals – that is to say purported Philly locals – in the commercial decried the idea at first, but later in the spot they appear to give it a pass, though we're not sure how many negative reactions they left on the cutting room floor for the commercial.
While those in the commercial seemed receptive, one Philly BK location will not be serving the burger.
According to Philly.com, the Burger King at 15 S. Eighth St. will not feature the Philly Cheese King out of "respect" for classic steaks.
Will you try it the Philly Cheese King or is it just another knock off attempt on a local classic to you?
