Caroling, Holiday Nite To Be Held In Roxborough Park

Caroling, a Santa sighting, a Christmas tree raffle, a Dance Company performance, and more.

Santa Claus is coming to town once again at the 18th Annual Caroling Nite at beautiful Gorgas Park in Roxborough Sunday, December 6, 2015 6:00 pm. Join the Roxborough neighborhood for a night of caroling, hot chocolate, cookies and more.

In addition to the fun singing and Santa sighting, this year’s event will feature a live performance by Merge Dance Company. All event attendees will be eligible to enter to win a live Christmas tree.

At this year’s event we will also come together to remember Bernie Scally, the excellent Review reporter and neighbor, who passed away sadly and prematurely this fall. Specifically, Friends of Gorgas Park, the RoxboroughDevelopment Corporation and Advent on Ridge will be raising money at this event for the purpose of dedicating a tree memorial in Bernie’s name in Gorgas Park.

“Scally covered the neighborhood and points beyond for over a decade. His professionalism and class were appreciated by all of us,” said John Boyce President of Friends of Gorgas Park. “Everyone is welcome as we celebrate the holiday season, and we commemorate a special person, young Bernie Scally who left us too soon.”

Five Christmas trees will be raffled during Caroling Nite donated by Chris Myers. Mr. Myers trees and wreaths are for sale in Gorgas Park for the 15th straight year.

Proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the Bernie Scally Tree Memorial Fund. Friends of Gorgas Park will be serving free hot chocolate and treats. Come early to enjoy them before the caroling begins. Caroling Nite is the last program of the year presented by Friends of Gorgas Park.
