Convicted Philly Felon Charged For Having Gun With Hollow Point Bullets: U.S. Attorney's Office

The 32-year-old man had a 9 mm handgun with 15 live rounds of hollow-point ammunition.

A Philadelphia man, who is a convicted felon, was recently charged by indictment with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen announced.

According to the indictment, on January 7, 2017, Kevin Harris, 32, of Philadelphia, was in possession of a 9mm semiautomatic pistol, loaded with 15 live rounds of hollow-point ammunition, Lappen said in the announcement.

If convicted, Harris faces a minimum term of ten years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment, according to Lappen's office.

The case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Katherine E. Driscoll.
