Crews Recheck Schuylkill River in Search for Shane Montgomery

Shane Montgomery, a Roxborough native, has been missing since Thanksgiving.

Authorities on Wednesday again searched the Schuylkill River for Shane Montgomery, a Roxborough native and college student who has been missing for two weeks.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that police marine units were acting on a “credible tip” and rechecking the frigid waters in the area beneath the Belmont Avenue Bridge in Manayunk. Searchers, on boats, were seen Wednesday morning looking for evidence leading to information about the missing 21-year-old.

Montgomery, a West Chester University student, was last seen at Kildare’s Pub on Main Street in Manayunk around 1:45 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. Since his disappearance, a massive search has been launched to find clues and information that will lead to his location.

Montgomery is described as 5’11” tall, about 130 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes. He has a tattoo of a Celtic cross on his shoulder blade. He was last seen wearing a gray button-down shirt, blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and black sneakers.
