East Falls School To Merge With Holy Child
St. Bridget's in East Falls may merge with Holy Child in Manayunk, an article on Philly.com stated.

Although the official Blue Ribbon Commission list of recommended school closures in the Archdiocese will not be officially released until 4 p.m., Philly.com is reporting that St. Bridget's in East Fall may merge with Holy Child Catholic School in Manayunk.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Andorra, was not on the list and is, therefore, not being considered for closure. Holy Cross in Mt. Airy could merge with Our Mother of Consolation in Chestnut Hill, the article continued.
It has also been reported that West Catholic High School, Archbishop Prendergast and Monsignor Bonner were all on the list to close.

The recommendations come after a yearlong in-depth analysis of all programs related to Catholic education throughout the Archdiocese - elementary, high school, special education and parish religious education programs (for Catholic children who attend public schools), a release from the diocese stated.
Now that recommendations have beem made, the 16 members of the commission will discuss the plans for the future of Catholic education with Charles Chaput, the Archbishop of Philadelphia, who will offer comments on the findings.

Chaput told administrators of schools on the list that they could appeal the commission's recommendations by contacting the commission directly and, "if they are not satisfied with the explanation for the recommended closures, they could contact him," an article in the Delaware County Daily Times stated.
