The Center at Journey's Way is delighted to announce a new series, Fitness for Your Brain, to introduce you to a variety of topics relevant to brain health, based on the latest research. The goal of the program is to help you make changes in your life so your brain functions at its best!
Volunteer peer leaders will give particpants information about how the brain works and engage them in exercises to improve memory and more. The first class is Monday, September 24, 10:30-11:45 am. All other classes will be Wednesdays October 3 through December 5, 1-2 pm. No session Wednesday November 21. Focus areas include:
- The importance of good nutritional choices in our diets.
- The importance of physical exercise for brain health.
- The importance of a range of mental stimulation.
- The importance of managing stress in a healthy way.
- The importance of socialization to avoid isolation.
You can pick and choose the classes to attend, but it is suggested that you try to attend the first class to get the overview.
