Spring into Fitness at Journey's Way

  Spring forward with fitness classes that are fun, energizing and an excellent way to help manage diabetes and weight, at The Center at Journey’s Way, 403 Rector St. in Roxborough.  To entice you, there are two classes that are offered on a donation basis for those 60+ -- $2.00 optional suggested donation!  These two classes are supported through the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging Prime Time Health. (For those 55-59, the cost is $4.00 for members and $6.00 for non- members):

  • Get Fit While You Sit, low impact aerobics done seated, is for those who have not been exercising and want to start or resume exercising. Get Fit While You Sit is offered Fri. 11:00 a.m. -12 Noon .
  • Stretch and Strengthen is low impact aerobics done standing and seated, designed for people who are active. Stretch and Strengthen is offered Mondays 9:30-10:30am .  

In addition, two of Journey’s Way’s  newer fitness classes are Gentle Mat Yoga and  Zumba.  Gentle Mat Yoga, to enhance focus, relaxation, strength and flexibility is Thurs, 9:15-10:15 a.m.  Classes are $4.00 for members and $6.00 for non- members. Zumba, high energy aerobics with a Latin flavor, is Wed., 1:00-1:45 p.m. Classes are $4.00 for members and $6.00 for non- members.

Other  ongoing popular classes that combine physical and mental well-being are Meditation, Mon 11:00-11:30am, $1.00 members, $2.00 non members;  Chair Yoga Mon, 11:30 am -12:00 noon; Tai Chi Tues 2:00-3:00 pm & Thurs 1:30-3:30 pm; and Line Dancing  Wed. 10:00 - 11:00 am . Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, and Line Dancing are each $4.00 for members and $6.00 for non-members.
