FBI Joins Search for Missing Roxborough Man

Shane Montgomery, 21, was last seen at Kildare's Pub on Main Street in Manayunk around 1:45 a.m. Thursday.

The FBI has joined the search for a missing Roxborough man who was last seen early Thursday morning leaving a Manayunk bar.

Shane Montgomery, 21, did not return home after spending Thanksgiving Eve out with friends at Kildare’s Pub on Main Street in Manayunk. He was last seen around 1:45 a.m. Thursday, when he was escorted out of the bar by a bouncer after he bumped into a stool.

A post on the Help Find Shane Montgomery page, which was created by family of the West Chester University student, confirmed the FBI is now involved in the search.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a police marine unit searched the Manayunk Canal Sunday but there was no trace of Montgomery. FBI investigators are interviewing the staff at Kildare’s, the Inquirer said.

According to authorities, the last ping to Montgomery’s cellphone was from a tower in Lower Merion just after 2:30 a.m. So far, there is no surveillance video of Montgomery after he left Kildare’s.

On Saturday, Manayunk cancelled its tree lighting event and a candlelight vigil was held instead at Canal View Park.

Montgomery is described as 5’11” tall, about 130 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes. He has a tattoo of a Celtic cross on his shoulder blade. He was last seen wearing a gray button-down shirt, blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and black sneakers.

Montgomery’s family is offering a $10,000 reward for reliable information about his whereabouts.
