Founders Philly Freeze-Out Is Saturday In Manayunk

The day will feature ice carving and sculptures, beer and chowder specials at several restaurants, free goodies and prizes, and more.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — Main Street Manayunk is bracing for a different kind of freeze this weekend, as Founders Philly Freeze-Out is taking place Saturday.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Main Street will feature ice carving demonstrations, Founders Brewing Company drink and chowder specials in restaurants, live music, and in-store shopping events.

Event attendees will be treated to a full day of winter fun where the street will be lined with over 20 ice sculptures by Peter Slavin and his team at Ice Sculpture Philly.

Start your day at Shurs Lane where the tour of ice sculptures starts at Manayunk Brewing Company. A full list of ice sculptures and their locations is below.

Make your way down to Main and Lock streets where Founders Brewing Company will be handing out goodies and prizes to attendees who register ahead.

Head to Main and Rector Streets at 11:30 a.m. where a live ice carving will take place, sponsored by Manayunk Tavern and The Couch Tomato.

The Girls Scouts of Eastern PA will also have a booth set up for cookie sales, crafts, and recruitment.

The live carvings will continue down the street throughout the day.

Below is the ice carving schedule:

  • 11:30 a.m. — The Couch Tomato/Manayunk Tavern (Peace Sign sculpture)
  • 12:30 p.m. — Winnie’s Manayunk (LOVE statue)
  • 1:30 p.m. — Pitchers Pub/Pizza Jawn (TBD)
  • 2:30 p.m. — Lucky’s Last Chance (Hotdog)
  • 3:30 p.m. — Union Tap House (Joel Embiid)

In addition to the outdoor family fun, Founders Brewing Company beer and chowder specials will be on the menu at participating restaurants, including The Goat’s Beard, Jake’s and Cooper’s Wine Bar, JD McGillicuddy’s, Taqueria Amor, and more.
