Hill & Associates Scholarship for Children of First Responders

Hill & Associates is offering a scholarship for students who are children of first responders.

First responders play an integral role in keeping our community safe. Their acts of selflessness and the sacrifices they make on a daily basis bring the rest of us great comfort knowing that they will be there to help us in our times of need. However, much of their hard work and dedication to keeping our communities safe often takes place behind the scenes and thus, can go unnoticed.

That's why Philadelphia personal injury lawyer Leonard Hill and his legal team at Hill & Associates, P.C. are proud to offer a $1,500 scholarship for children who are college-bound or current college students and have parents who are first responders. The firm supports the hard work put in day in and out by these everyday heroes and hopes that by offering this scholarship opportunity to their children, it will have a positive impact on a first responder’s family just as his or her work positively impacts the community at large.

All interested applicants are asked to submit proof of enrollment in an accredited postsecondary institution (university, college, technical school), documented proof of their parent’s status as a first responder (i.e. copy of badge # or ID), and a 500+ word essay that shares their story by answering the prompt: How has being a child of a first responder impacted your life for the better (i.e. how has it influenced who you are, how you grew up, the decisions you've made, etc.)?

The scholarship is open to all high school students graduating in 2017 and current college students across the United States, and applications will be accepted until July 31, 2017. After the deadline, Leonard Hill and his team will review the entries and pick one applicant who best demonstrates how being a child of a first responder has positively affected his or her life. The awarded money can then be used for any school-related costs such as school supplies, boarding, tuition, or books.
