Holiday Tree Lighting Set For Nov 17 In Manayunk

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — Each year, it seems like the holiday season begins sooner and sooner.
And in Manayunk the holiday fun kicks off next week.
Manayunk’s Tree Lighting Ceremony and Get LIT! decorating event is set for Thursday, Nov. 17.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Canal View Park, 4418 Main St.
A portion of Main Street will be closed for the event with a full stage, and the night will feature special guests and live performances by The City Belles, Maggie Mae, Brendan & Katie of Stella Ruze, and Emily Drinker.

Santa Claus himself just might make an appearance.
The Pre-Show will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature a photo booth, hot chocolate stand, and plenty of giveaways.
The City Belles a cappella group will open the show followed by live performances starting at 6 p.m. and the tree lighting at 7 p.m.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony also marks the official launch of the 3rd Annual Manayunk Gets LIT! decorating event.
All season long, visitors will have the chance to experience the magic of the lights as more than 30 Manayunk businesses deck out the street.
Windows, roofs, storefronts, and more will be decorated, transforming Manayunk into a holiday winter wonderland.
There will also be weekly Instagram contests for spectators who share their favorite decked out building.
