Hundreds of Philly Teachers Rally, Blocking Broad Street
Hundreds rallied Thursday to protest the School Reform Commission's surprise cancellation of the teachers' contract.

A rally that attracted more than 1,000 teachers and supporters reportedly blocked traffic along Broad Street Thursday afternoon outside the School District of Philadelphia’s headquarters.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the rally was organized by The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers to protest the School Reform Commission’s surprise cancellation of the teachers’ contract over a health care dispute.
The School Reform Commission has a meeting Thursday at 5:30 p.m. It is the first meeting since the decision to cancel the contract was made and 60 people have signed up to comment publicly, NBC10 reported.
