Local Organization Aims to Provide 1,000 Children With School Supplies
Northern Children's Services Back-To-School Drive aims to supply 1,000 Philadelphia and Chester children with school essentials.

Northern Children’s Services is holding a Back-To-School Drive to help ensure children in Philadelphia and Chester have what they need to start the year.
“Due to a higher demand this year, the number of children who are in need of back packs and school supplies in the Philadelphia and Chester community has increased dramatically to approximately 1,000. Without the help of organizations, like Northern Children’s Services, the children will likely go to school unprepared and embarrassed,” according to an announcement from the organization.
“For many students who struggle with needing basic things we all take for granted, new school supplies can mean a sense of stability and inclusion,” said Melissa Keating, Lead Clinician of Logan Elementary School’s STS program.

For the past month, the organization has been reaching out to businesses for support. But, according to Northern Children’s Services, the generosity of those businesses may not be enough. They are now reaching out to the community for help.
