Local Scholarships Awarded

Neduscin Foundation Continues Commitment to Neighborhood Students

The 2016 Neducsin, Spirit of Manayunk Scholarship award dinner was held at Anastasi Seafood Restaurant, Tuesday evening, June 28. It was hosted by Dan and Luana Neducsin of Neducsin Properties, Inc., a local real estate development company. The privately funded scholarship program has allocated 67 students since 1995. This year’s funding of $30,000 per student is based on criteria met by the student: academic achievement (a minimum GPA 2.6), extracurricular activities, community service, and financial need. The students must maintain the criteria throughout their college career.

The four students selected for 2016 are (right to left) John Coppiner, St. Joseph’s Prep High School accepted Temple University, Actuarial Science Program; Christina Knox, Mount St. Joseph’s Academy, University of Pennsylvania; James McCloskey Roman Catholic High School, St. Joseph’s University, political science; and ( not pictured) Zoey Miller, Central High School accepted at Dickenson University, Biology, pre-med.
