Manayunk Eatery Seen Pouring Orange Liquid Down Storm Drain

It's unclear what the actual material was, but residents on Main Street are not happy with the restaurant's actions.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — Residents in Manayunk are asking for answers as to why a Main Street eatery was seen pouring liquid down a storm drain recently.

A Facebook user shared video and photos of workers at Hotpot Gourmet pouring some kind of liquid into a storm drain.

Hotpot's owner told Action News the pipes in the restaurant were clogged and that employees were dumping only mop and dishwater into the sewer.

The Facebook user later said the Philadelphia Water Department and a plumber were working to clean up the mess Wednesday.
