New Bridge And Trail In The Wissahickon Near Completion
The Friends of the Wissahickon announced that construction was drawing to a close.

The environmental nonprofit that organizes much of the construction and preservation of Wissahickon Valley Park says that a repairs to a trail, including the addition of two bridges, are making significant progress.
The Lavender Trail, which stretches from near Ridge Avenue to Chestnut Hill Avenue within the park, is about 6.8 miles long, according to Fairmount Park geographical maps.
The bridge pictured above, recently completed, is one of two bridges that will be added to the trail, the Friends of the Wissahickon said.

The Wissahickon stretches between and throughout many parts of Manayunk and Roxborough, and makes up a significant portion of the much larger Fairmount Park system, which stretches throughout the city of Philadelphia.
