New Eatery And Pub Replaces Manayunk Staple Kildare's

Sona Pub and Kitchen is Manayunk's newest eatery and offers tons of beers, cocktails, and an electric menu

MANYUNK, PHILADELPHIA – Manayunk's newest restaurant opened its doors after a staple closed recently.

Sona Pub and Kitchen officially opened Thursday, April 27 in the former Kildare's location at 4417 Main St. in Manaynuk.

While Manayunk residents may miss Kildare's, Sona offers tons of options, including more than 30 beers on tap, unique sandwiches like the salmon BLT, Canadian favorite poutine, daily drink specials pizza, lots of cocktails at affordable prices, and much more.

Kildare's closed in September last year after opening in 2004.

While "sona" is the Irish word for "happy," Philly.com reports Sona co-owner Damien Given said Sona is not an Irish pub, which makes sense considering the eatery's website says Sona is "not your father's Irish pub."

Sona has two floors of bar space and table service and will have live music, dancing and more.

Sona is open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. The restaurant opens at 11:30 a.m. and closes at 2 a.m. Thursday and Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, doors open from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The kitchen closes at 10 p.m. daily.
