On Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, Brooklyn Wax is offering a "Pay-What-You-Want" fundraiser with proceeds going to (PAWS) Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society.
Owner and managing partner Ashley Moleski has tapped one of the most skilled estheticians in the area to launch the flagship location. Leading the team is Allie Castellani, an expert esthetician who has over a decade of experience in the health and beauty arena. She has worked for some of the most sought after plastic surgeons, dermatologists and med spas throughout Philadelphia and the Main Line, honing her craft and skill in medical, health and wellness.

"During our market research we felt that there were plenty of spas that addressed issues of the face – acne, texture issues, and discoloration – but none that specialized in the intimate areas," said Castellani. "At Brooklyn Wax we have lightening and brightening treatments for your ‘naughty-bits.’ Your skin is cleansed, steamed, exfoliated – all powerful treatments against ingrown hairs and breakouts that can also improve scarring and discoloration."
Moleski adds, "Allie just gets it! She understands that this is a tailored service and we need to take care of our clients.”
Services include: Shiney Hiney B-Facial for the smoothest, silkiest, bump-free derriere; the Manzilian, a tongue-in-cheek male version of the Brazilian; a Man-kini; and a V-Facial which includes cleansing and steaming the bikini area and a soothing mask. Prices range from $9 to $215, depending on the service.
Brooklyn Wax uses high-end fragrance-free hard wax made for sensitive skin. The company’s intimate lightening product is organic and includes active enzymes and clinical ingredients which are specifically designed for private areas.
Another goal of Brooklyn Wax – to break the stigma that waxing is only for women.
"Men are definitely into self-care," explains Castellani. "They obsess about their appearance just as women do. A lot of men count on their monthly brow shaping and tinting to give them a more polished look (and to cover up some grays). A lot of guys are also self-conscious of extra body hair and would like it removed safely by a professional. Brooklyn Wax will always offer a 'judgement free zone' for our male clients. We want to break down any stigmas that may shy men away from feeling and looking good."
Instead of numbers, the treatment rooms are named after different neighborhoods in Brooklyn: Crown Heights, DUMBO, Park Slope and Williamsburg, which brings up the inspiration behind the name of the spa.
