No New Leads as Search for Montgomery Goes Into Fourth Week

Three weeks have passed and Shane Montgomery, a 21-year-old Roxborough native, is still missing, leaving his family desperate and investigators puzzled.
In an interview Thursday with NBC10, FBI Supervisory Special Agent J.J. Klaver said the “prevailing theory” is that Montgomery fell into the river but investigators have not turned up evidence to back that up.
Montgomery, a West Chester University student, was last seen at Kildare’s Pub on Main Street in Manayunk around 1:45 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. Since his disappearance, a massive search has been launched to find clues and information that will lead to his location.

Last week, police marine units rechecked the Schuylkill River in the area beneath the Belmont Avenue Bridge for his body after a surveillance camera showed him leaving Kildare’s and heading towards the Manayunk Canal.
But still no evidence leading to Montgomery’s whereabouts was turned up in that search.

Klaver told NBC10 the FBI will soon have to begin pulling back their search efforts if no more leads materialize.
Montgomery is described as 5’11” tall, about 130 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes. He has a tattoo of a Celtic cross on his shoulder blade. He was last seen wearing a gray button-down shirt, blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and black sneakers.
