Parks On Tap Returning To Roxborough, Manayunk In 2018

Philadelphia's popular roving beer garden is expanding in 2018, and it is of course making stops in the Roxborough and Manayunk areas.

ROXBOROUGH-MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA – Come late April, the increasingly-popular Parks On Tap roving beer garden will make its return to Philadelphia for the third year in a row, and of course it is making stops in Roxborough and Manayunk.

From May 30 to June 3, Gorgas Park in Roxborough will host Parks On Tap.

Then from Sept. 19 to Sept. 23, Pretzel Park in Manayunk will play host.

Parks On Tap starts April 25 in the Azalea Garden behind the Art Museum.

The 2018 iteration of the beer garden – which offers beer, wine, cocktails, nonalcoholic beverages, food, activities, hammocks, and more – is the biggest yet with 23 areas set to play host.

  • May 23 to May 28 (open on Memorial Day) – FDR Park
  • May 30 to June 3 – Gorgas Park
  • June 6 to June 10 – Matthias Baldwin
  • June 13 to June 17 – Belmont Plateau
  • June 20 to June 24 – Schuylkill Banks
  • June 27 to July 1 – Columbus Square
  • July 5 to July 8 – Shofuso Japanese House & Garden
  • July 11 to July 15 – Glendinning Rock Garden
  • July 18 to July 22 – Burholme Park
  • July 25 to July 29 – Pastorius Park
  • Aug. to Aug. 5 – Mt. Pleasant
  • Aug. 8 to Aug. 12 – Dickinson Square
  • Aug. 15 to Aug. 19 – Lemon Hill
  • Aug. 22 to Aug. 26 – Penn Treaty Park
  • Aug. 29 to Sept. 3 (open on Labor Day) – Clark Park
  • Sept. 5 to Sept. 9 – Pleasant Hill

Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays; 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays.

There is no word yet on what drinks and food will be available in 2018.

Last year, Parks on Tap's menu featured Philly-style, Texan-influenced fare and drinks included a special Parks On Tap brew from Saint Benjamin Brewing Company as well as other local beers, wines, and cocktails.

Parks on Tap is an initiative with the city that kicked off in 2016, aiming to engage the Philadelphia community and give back to the neighborhood parks. It is a partnership with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Avram Hornik of FCM Hospitality.
